In general, yacht preseason preparation begins at the end of the previous season. Repairing sails or ordering new ones, protection, accessories - you need to think about these things in advance for not rushing to the workshop in a fever. Of course, in most cases the opposite happens, because clients think they have enough time. This off-season, REMPAR has received many new clients and orders. Dmitry Tatarchuk – about how the spring work is going.
— How can you compare the pre-season stage of work this spring with last?
I can safely say that the number of orders has doubled or even tripled. The number of requests was definitely higher than last season. We had to refuse some clients because we had no time. I don’t remember such a fever last year and the year before.
— In your opinion, what influenced this growth?
I think speed, quality and technology. We trying to do all products on time. Of course, there are crazy deadlines, but we usually make it on time. People are recognizing us more and more. For example, Mare Yachting found out about us this season. Best of all, they put us on par with Argola and Frey. The level of large workshops is cool. Kek Yachting is also our new client, we didn’t much for them, but we made a catamaran and a large boat. Nice to met our old clients, for example, Adventure Charter. We received a large serial order for five new boats. Aquatoria (Marina Pirovac) approached us with a large order for Ullman Sails.
— Previously, REMPAR focused on a repair of sails, bimini, and sprayhoods. What about new products?
Now there’s no need to talk about new products. Orders for cushions have increased - we have never sewed so many cushions. Several boats, four catamarans, with two more on the way.
— Did customers order new sails?
We try to promote because it’s strategically important. Now we’re helping other sailmakers make new sails. It talks about trust. We will move in this direction.
— Are there any social projects or ideas to increase the company’s awareness or attract new customers?
We will be interested in helping young people who are involved in sailing. We are ready to support some beginner champion, help with sails or equipment. I hope that we will be able to realize this idea in June.
— Which project was most interesting this off-season?
The projects with catamarans probably. We are talking about cushions that are quite simple, but we have brought some innovations and new designs. We couldn’t use a standard pattern or pattern on some cushions, because their low landing. So we are looking for a solution: we combine some things, test them, try to make the ergonomics correctly.
— What are your expectations from the summer?
As practice shows, everything is calm in summer, everyone relaxes. We are also planning to take a little break.
